Floretta J. Moffett
Floretta J. "Rita" Moffett, a 1988 graduate of Murphy High School, died
Friday. She was 30.
Ms. Moffett was a lifelong Mobilian and a member of Greater Macedonia
Baptist Church. She had worked as a cashier at a fast-food chain.
Survivors include two children, Christina Moffett and LaRhonda Robinson,
both of Mobile; her mother and stepfather, Catherine and Henderson M. McNeil
of Mobile; four sisters, Linda Rowser, Mary Gaston, Shirley Dunklin and
Latonya Moffett, all of Mobile; two brothers, Daniel Moffett and Shawn
Moffett, both of Mobile; and her grandmother, Cartrina Merrills of Mobile.
Viewing will be Thursday after 9 a.m. at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church,
1350 Chinquapin St., with visitation from 11 a.m. until the noon services
begin. Burial will be at Moffettville Cemetery.

"Billie" Skinner Corey
GREENWOOD, S.C. - Willie Mae "Billie" Skinner Corey, a parishioner at
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Greenwood, died June 30 at her home
after battling cancer. She was 81.
The native Mobilian had lived in Greenwood since 1986, having moved
there from Stony Brook, N.Y.
An avid supporter of the Greenwood Museum, she was also a member of
the Woman's Club, the Keowee Study Club, the Tulip Garden Club and the
MNM Book Club.
Survivors include her son, Stanley B. Corey Jr. of Reston, Va.; three
daughters, Elizabeth Corey Stephenson of Fort Worth, Texas, Ann Corey Trigg
of Whittier, N.C., and Deborah Corey Smith of Decatur, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
A wake will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Blyth Funeral
Home in Greenwood. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes
Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday with interment in Oakbrook Memorial Park
in Greenwood.

Robert Allwin Agee
Robert Allwin Agee, a retired major with the U.S. Air Force and long-time
teacher and tutor, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Agee, a native of Mobile, resided in Magnolia Springs.
During his 16 years of service with the Air Force, he received two Distinguished
Service Medals; two Meritorious Service Medals; and the Rawlings Award
for Europe.
His various assignments during his military career took him to Greenland,
which lead him to become a member of the Polar Bear Club, and Europe, where
a stint in England fueled his passion for vintage cars.
According to his family, he had an insatiable appetite for learning,
which served him well in the various teaching positions he held, as well
as in his tutoring.
"We used to tease him. He always loved to go to school, loved to learn
and to pass on what he had learned. This unique individual will be sorely
missed by his surviving family members. His passing is a loss for our community
and the loss of a dedicated teacher," said his sister, Sharon Faile of
Mobile.
Agee, who had taught at Faulkner State Community College in addition
to teaching ROTC at the University of Alabama, held bachelor's degrees
in physics, geology, education and computer science as well as master's
degrees in education and computer science. At the time of his death, he
was working on his PhD.
Another of the sciences Agee enjoyed was archaeology. His sister recalled
his going on archaeological digs in Mexico from which he brought back a
number of pieces.
He had attended the University of South Alabama, the University of Alabama
and Boston University, among others.
Agee is also survived by his mother, Constance Agee of Mobile; his wife,
Mary Jane Brown Agee of Magnolia Springs; and two sons, Sean Charles Agee
and Braxton Agee, both of Magnolia Springs.
Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Friday in Pine Crest Cemetery
with Pine Crest Funeral Home in charge.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite hospice
facility.
Pauline P. Williams
Pauline P. Williams, a native of Wilcox County, Ala. and resident of
Mobile, died Tuesday at her residence. She was 88.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church,
where she served in the Sunday School and missionary department.
She is survived by eight children, Cenius Williams of Birmingham, Eugene
Williams, Mildred Jackson, Carrie Jackson, Dorothy Williams, John Williams
and the Rev. Bobby Williams of Mobile and Ari Crayton of Millers Ferry,
Ala.; adopted children, Charles W. Porter, Henry Bright, Daisy Porter and
Pearl Robinson; two sisters, Arline Jackson of California and Lucille Gulley
of Mobile; 35 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral Friday at Green
Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be Saturday in Millers Ferry Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Reese Funeral Home.
Johnny Mosley
GRAND BAY - Johnny Mosley, a retired employee of the city of Mobile,
died Saturday in a local hospital at the age of 78.
Mosley, a native of Dallas County, resided in Grand Bay for a number
of years.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Marsha Casher; eight children,
Michael Casher, Diane Casher, Tammy Whitfield and Johnnie Lee Casher, all
of Theodore, Ethel Shannon and NeVell Pierce, both of Sardis, Ala., Dorothy
Hunter of Pensacola, and Robert Mosley of Bluntstown, Fla.; eight sisters,
Geneva Cole of Spring Valley, N.Y., Mary Mosley Cameron of Westwood, N.J.,
Evelyn Mosley Conway of Akron, Ohio, Carrie Smith and Leola Smith, both
of Selma, Ala., Virginia M. Bennett of Phenix City, Ala., Louise M. Harris
of Atlanta, Emma Peoples of Orrville, Ala.; six brothers, Charles Mosley

"Mollie" Donald
GILBERTOWN - Walter Early "Mollie" Donald, who had worked as a mechanic
with John Utsey Construction, died Wednesday in a Meridian, Miss., hospital.
He was 87.
A lifelong resident of Gilbertown, Donald attended Gilbertown Baptist
Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie Stafford Donald of Gilbertown; three
sons, Walter "Bunk" Donald and Jimmie "Bill" Donald, both of Gilbertown,
and W.L. Donald of Fairhope; one brother, Elmer Donald of Gilbertown; one
sister, Letha Adams of Gilbertown; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home
in Gilbertown, where services are set for 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will
be in Gilbertown Cemetery.
Bessie Ruth Hastings Joiner
MONROEVILLE - Bessie Ruth Hastings Joiner, a homemaker and retired clerk
for Plaza Pharmacy and Williams Drug Store, died Tuesday in a Mobile hospital.
She was 84.
Mrs. Joiner, a native of Paris, Tenn., resided in Monroeville for the
past 32 years.
Survivors include one son, James C. Joiner of Dallas, Texas; one daughter,
Marilyn J. Sawyer of Monroeville; one brother, Edward Hastings of Paris;
one sister, Lena Dortch of Paris; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville
with interment in Monroe Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Emma Susie Overton
GROVE HILL- Emma Susie Overton of Grove Hill died Monday at a local
hospital. She was 88.
Mrs. Overton, a native of Clarke County, was a member of the Union Baptist
Church. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Lum Perry Overton, Roy Leon Overton and
Billy G. Overton, all of Grove Hill; four daughters, Willie Nell Jones
of Waynesborough, Miss., Regina Parden of Grove Hill, Annie Nora Young
of Grove Hill and Betty O. Anderson of Mobile; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren
and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Lathan Funeral
Home in Grove Hill. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home
chapel with interment in Magnolia Holiness Cemetery.
Frank Johnston
Frank Johnston, a native of Calvert, Ala., and resident of Citronelle,
died Wednesday at the age of 71.
Johnston, who worked as a logger, attended Charity Chapel Assembly of
God Church.
He is survived by one son, Frank Johnston Jr. of Fort Gibson, Okla.;
three brothers, P.J. Johnston of Saraland, Luther Johnston of Mobile and
Isaac Johnston of Grand Bay; three sisters, Ruthie Ledger of Mobile, Dorothy
Dean of Leakesville, Miss. and Lavern Patrick of Daphne; and four grandchildren.

in Citronelle. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Charity Chapel Assembly

James C. Wallace
James C. Wallace, who worked as a farmer, car dealer and a land developer,
died June 30 in a local hospital at the age of 85.
Wallace, a native of Fayetteville, Tenn., resided in Mobile for a year
and a half.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Phagan Wallace; one daughter, Ann
Moore of Mobile; two sons, Harold Wallace of Albemarle, N.C., and Larry
Wallace of Humboldt, Tenn.; three brothers and one sister, all of Fayetteville,
and one sister of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services took place at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville with interment
in Cedar Hill Cemetery on July 2.
Margaret Kathryn Faulkner Faulk
DALLAS, Texas - Margaret Kathryn Faulkner Faulk, a member of the Daughters
of the American Revolution, died Tuesday in a Dallas.
Mrs. Faulk, a native of El Paso, Texas, was a former longtime resident
of Citronelle.
Survivors include her son, Randy Faulk Jr. of Dallas; one brother, Nicholas
M. Faulkner of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Magnolia Cemetery
in Leakesville, Miss., with Roche-Belmany-Herrington Funeral Home of Mobile
in charge.

Minnie Mae Osborne
COFFEEVILLE - Minnie Mae Osborne, a retired dietitian, died Monday at
her Coffeeville residence. She was 70.
Mrs. Osborne, a native of Toxey, Ala., had worked as a dietitian at
a Veterans Administration hospital in California.
She was a member Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville.
Survivors include one son, John Henry Osborne Jr. of Coffeeville; one
daughter, Terry Williams of Coffeeville; her mother, Edna Williams of Coffeeville;
one brother, Earnest Williams of Mobile; six sisters, Rosie Williams, Edna
Osborne and Lucille Pace, all of Coffeeville, Victoria Thornton of Long
Beach, Calif., Mary Louise Coats of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Pearlean
Thomas of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

of Coffeeville with viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will

Margaret Evelyn Boykin
Margaret Evelyn Boykin, who worked in floral design, died Thursday in
a local hospital at the age of 56.
Mrs. Boykin was a native and resident of Mobile and a member of Shiloh
Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth E. Boykin of Mobile; two sons,
Clyce L. Orso III and Darryl W. Orso, both of Mobile; two daughters, Janine
O. Byrd and Sherry O. Jones, both of Mobile; two stepchildren, Ken Boykin

Mona Maxine Tucker, who had worked for the Mobile County Board of Education,
died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Mrs. Tucker was a native Mobilian and resident of Chickasaw.

Gary Tucker Jr. and Charlie Tucker, all of Chickasaw; three sisters, Nora
